This Book "Kriya Yoga" deals with guidelines for spiritual evolution of a seeker (Sadhaka). Based on the teachings of Parama Pujya Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji of Mysore, India, whose words are rearranged and elucidated upon. Since time immemorial Lord Dattatreya is considered to be the profounder of yoga in true sense.

There are innumerable temples which he has consecrated for Dattatreya and other deities in different parts of this world speak his uniqueness and Mysticism of yoga.

Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji is a living exponent of Kriya Yoga in the lineage of Dattatreya Guru. He teaches Seekers in East and West in Kriya classes in a practical manner out of his own experience.

Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji has in-depth understanding of Maha kundalini yoga. He invokes and draws inspiration from his own mother Jayalaxmi Mata, a saintly person, who was a master of raja yoga and Sree Vidya. Her energy has a profound effect on Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji by descent (Saktipat). Inborn accomplishments, play of energies are significant characteristics of Yoga Guru. His teachings boil down to basic tenets of all religious teachings: The Universal Spirit is one and we are but his earthly tabernacles. We must realize Him because we are His manifestations. Rise above the plane of sensory perception to the subtle plane of recognition of true state of Sat-cit-Ananda. Siva and Sakti are but two aspects of the same absolute Being.

This Kriya Yoga book is valuable in fostering spiritual understanding to seekers who are in the path of yoga. In order to make theoretical and practical aspects of Kriya Yoga in a systematic way, short and long term courses were conducted in our Yoga Mandir in the Ashrama at Mysore and in a few selected places in India on an experimental basis. The response to the courses was very good. Earnest students from all over India and abroad attended the courses. The benefits both physical and spiritual, derived by the participants prompted them to devise steps to protect this esoteric knowledge from being lost again. Further, the students now undergoing the course have also been urging to bring out a comprehensive book which can serve as a reliable text for the beginners and seekers.

This book is being brought out to fulfill this need and is based on the class-room notes of the students who ventured to attend the earlier session in Kriya Yoga conducted in the Yoga Mandira few years ago.

The present edition of kriya yoga text is planned to suit the fast thinking and active youth who are volatile due to stress or account of their life styles. To overcome the stress and make them confident and to receive the fruits of life unperturbed certain yoga techniques are introduced.

The principle factors in the Yogic practice are synchronized with modern scientific details such as physiology.

On mind and meditation useful explanations and methods dwelled in. Focus is given on the importance of Food for yoga practicants.
