Sri Guru Gita, also known as Sanatkumara Samhita, appears in Skanda Purana. In Sri Guru Gita, Lord Shiva nicely explains the qualities and greatness of a true Guru, the sublime role of the Guru, how the sishya should act towards his Guru, etc., in response to the queries of the divine mother Parvati. It is the essence of all Vedas and a regular recitation earns the disciple great merit and Guru's grace (Guru kripa) leading to immortality.
