Amma Vodi is a social welfare project exclusively addressing the special needs of destitute women in India. Our society abounds in cases where women from all castes and communities suffer from discrimination. Their plight becomes even worse when they are rendered homeless and destitute. They become the target of untold misery, suffering and exploitation. Life seems to them as no longer worth living, and they get forcibly driven to many inhumane situations.

Amma Vodi, which means 'Mother's Lap', is a social welfare project exclusively addressing the special needs of destitute women. The project envisages the establishment of a major rehabilitation center for destitute women in the precincts of Hyderabad region in Andhra Pradesh. With a deep, heart-felt concern to improve the lot of such women, Pujya Sri Ganapathi Sachchidanada Swamiji has planned the project Amma Vodi.
