VIDYA NIDHI - SGS Vidya Samsthe, is a FREE educational facility run by the Avadhoota Dattapeetham, providing primary and high school levels of education in Mysore. This school provides FREE education to under-privileged students, who cannot afford schooling. In addition to the prescribed academic curriculum, this school also provides various extra-curricular activities such as debates, sports, arts & crafts, music competitions and study tours. These facilities are being run by the generous support from Sri Swamiji, and need additional funds to support expansion of infrastructure, continuous efforts at improving the facilities and maintaining a high standard of education. VAGDEVI SCHOOL FOR THE REHABILITATION OF COMMUNICATION IMPAIRED - provides pre-primary education, diagnostic evaluation and intervention including educational intervention from infant stimulation, vocational training to communications-impaired children in an integrated setup. This is the first of its kind institution in India putting all the communication-impaired children under one roof. This center was originally established in 1996 by Smt Shantha Radhakrishna and was taken over in 2002, by the Avadhoota Datta Peetha Trust under the guidance of His Holiness Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji of Mysore. Sri Swamiji devoted His entire life to the welfare of humanity and is the support and energy behind the SGS Vagdevi Centre in Bangalore. With a humble start with 8 students, this centre now has 72 children. It serves as a speech and hearing clinic for children who are hearing impaired, intellectually challenged and autistic.
